Lakewood — Veterans United Home Loans presented the Paralyzed Veterans of America with a $25,000 donation at Veterans United’s Grand Opening on Thursday, November 1. The donation comes from the Veterans United Foundation, a not-for-profit organization funded 100% by Veterans United Home Loans Employees and the company.
The Veterans United Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of veterans and military families nationwide. The foundation supports nonprofit organizations that strengthen local communities and honor the sacrifices of those who served our country. It also provides individual donations to current and former military members in need. In 2011, the employee-driven Veterans United Foundation was started, and 80% of employees donated 1% of their salary to support its mission to enhance the lives of veterans and military families nationwide.
Paralyzed Veterans of America fights for better health care and benefits, aids in the search for a truly satisfying career, and provides the path to adventure through adaptive sports. PVA’s National Chapter’s Development Officer, Mark Slaughter will accept the donation on behalf of the PVA. Local chapter members will also be in attendance.
