Republican Budget Still Wrong for South Sound

"Today's vote in the U.S. House was a blow to South Sound seniors, students and middle class families. It’s astonishing how out of touch Congress is with the priorities of the American people. This budget would make massive cuts to Pell Grants and the already tattered social safety net while at the same time giving millionaires and corporations who ship American jobs overseas yet another huge tax cut.

"The 'new' Republican budget proposal looks a whole lot like the old one. Just like last year’s budget, this budget would end Medicare as we know it and make massive cuts to Pell Grants and the already tattered social safety net. These cuts would make life more difficult for seniors, students and middle class families throughout the South Sound.

Doug Richardson is running for Position 6 to replace Dick Muri who must vacate the seat due to term limits. The district covers the communities of Lakewood, Dupont, Steilacoom, Anderson Island, Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Parkland.

Flemming, Muri to debate April 4
Posted by | CommentsThe 2nd & 29th Districts Republican Club will host a debate featuring the candidates for the new 10th Congressional District seat. Candidates Dick Muri and Stan Fleming have confirmed their participation. The new 10th Congressional District was created as a result of the 2010 census and the recent state redistricting process. The debate, which is open to the public, will be held on April 4th, at the Sprinker Rec Center, 14824 C st., Parkland at 7:00 PM.
