Muri picks up two more endorsements
Posted by | CommentsLakewood, WA—Pierce County Councilman and candidate for U.S. Representative in the 10th Congressional District Dick Muri has received two more endorsements. These will be added to the more than 120 major endorsements from dozens of Precinct Committee Officers’, current and former elected officials, and organizations like Combat Veterans for Congress.
Joining the coalition team supporting Dick’s candidacy are former Thurston County Sheriff Gary Edwards and current State Senator from the 2nd Legislative District Randi Becker. "I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for both Gary Edwards and Randi Becker for their years of service to our community. Because of this, I was both thrilled and humbled by their endorsements," Dick stated shortly after receiving news of the new endorsements on the evening of May 8th.

Saudia Heard starts track season with pair of victories

The "Heard" 2012 track season has officially begun. Saudia Heard attended the April 28-29 Rising Stars Track Invitational in Rancho Cucamuga, California. Saudia competed in the girls midget category (12-13yrs old) which consisted of 80+ girls in that age group alone. Saudia won the girls 400m event with a time of 1:00:01 or 60 seconds. This is a phenomenal time and was a personal best for her. She also won the long jump competition with jump of 14' 7", another personal record. Finally she placed 2nd in the fierce 200m race with a time of 27:28 seconds. We are very proud of her and excited to see what this season holds for her. Saudia returned home with two gold medals and one silver. She is off to a strong start this season. She is also representing Hudtloff Middle Schools' 6th grade track team this year.

What a Saturday. Sunny temperatures pushing towards 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Every motorcycle that runs, was out today and then there were all the guys and gals with convertibles.
I love cars and motorcycles. That being said, it should be easy to understand why I made my way to the annual Fly & Ride at the South Prairie Air Field located in the Bonney Lake / Buckley area.

Wong aims to unseat Carrell
Posted by | CommentsYoshie Wong, a Steilacoom school board member and long-time community activist, announced she is challenging Sen. Mike Carrell to represent the 28th District in the Washington Legislature.
Wong, a small business owner and 13-year resident of Steilacoom, told supporters she was slow to decide to take on Carrell, but after hearing people complain and reviewing his work in the Senate she decided to respond to the urgings to run. It was sobering to evaluate the Carrell legacy, she said.

First AH-64 Apache helicopters arrive at JBLM
Posted by | CommentsJOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – The 16th Combat Aviation Brigade will welcome the arrival of 10 AH-64 Apache and five UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters Friday afternoon, May 11 as 1st Battalion, 229th Aviation Regiment begins its relocation from Fort Hood to Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
After a three-day journey from Fort Hood, a distance of more than 2,200 miles, the AH-64 aircraft will touch down here marking the first time in base history that Apache helicopters will be stationed at JBLM. Approximately 500 personnel, 13 more Apache and five more Blackhawk helicopters will arrive in the coming months. The transition is scheduled for completion by mid-August.
