Forecast for March 21-23 2011

Well everyone, Saturday ended up being the better day this weekend as Sunday brought some clouds with it due to a low pressure system off the coast pushing everything into the area overnight Saturday. The low was actually forecasted to move out of the area by the end of the day Saturday leaving us with clear skies but it decided to stall. Monday, we are going to see a chance of showers throughout the day with a high near 50 and a low near 38. Tuesday, the precipitation should be out of the area with mostly cloudy skies, a high near 51 and a low near 35. Wednesday, may bring us a clearing with partly sunny skies, a high near 54 and a low near 36. This weekend was also a good weekend for my storm chasing team as my chase partner intercepted a beautiful supercell that produced a brief tornado in the Texas panhandle. He photographed the whole event and the photos are on our website! Everyone enjoy your weeks!

Forecast For March 11-13 2011

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck Japan Thursday, and caused a significant tsunami that caused an extreme amount of damage as far as 60 to 70 miles inland. Several deaths have been reported, unfortunately the death toll will likely rise. Hawaii is in the path of a large tsunami wave that may be as large as 5 feet high. The tsunami is expected to hit Hawaii at 3:00 AM HST. Most of the west coast is under a tsunami warning. The tsunami wave is expected to hit the Washington coast around 7 to 8 AM PST. We are unsure of the extent of the strength and size of the wave when it impacts the coast but this wave will likely be much smaller than the impact on the Hawaii coast. Anyway, now for your weather forecast. Friday, we are going to see partly sunny skies with a high near 51 and a low near 39 with the rain returning overnight. Saturday, we are going to be seeing showers, mainly in the morning with a high near 50 and a low near 38. Sunday, we are going to see rain throughout the day with a high near 50 and a low near 41 . So this weekend will be quite a rainy one. A good weekend for indoor activities! Everyone enjoy your weekends!
