China Meets China in a Black & White Affair. First Place Professional People’s Choice.

By Nancy Covert

Imagine dining at this captain’s table: one set with ornate goblets and silver plates, a treasure chest spilling over with jewels and coins, illuminated by a candelabra, with a view of a spectacular tropical sunset visible through the porthole?

Or how about sitting down to a memorable meal entitled, “China meets China?” This striking table showcased a range of black and white accessories, from place settings to the antique doll centerpiece.

The “Dragon and the Swan” table setting, suitable for a Roguish Explorer’s personal cabin, i.e., picture Sir Francis Drake, and his Lady, and the posh “China Meets China,” were selected as top Winners in the 2012 Beautiful Tables Decoration event, held at Lakewold Gardens.

First Night Together at the Four Seasons. Third Place, Novice People’s Choice.

Table themes ranged from holiday celebrations to special occasions, such as “First Night Together at the Four Seasons.” More than 500 guests attended the annual event.
