Partner UP Caribbean-style at Bridgeport Place
Posted on August 22, 2011Superb summer weather last Thursday set the stage for the City of University Place’s "Partner UP!" at Bridgeport Place bringing local business people and city officials together in a social setting for an opportunity to network, improve communication, and celebrate life in UP.
University Place Mayor Debbie Klosowski was joined by other city officials and council members. The event was co-sponsored by the UP/Fircrest Division of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce; Division President Randy Walden was on-hand and addressed the group, as did the mayor.
The early evening event featured a colorful summertime menu including beef tenderloin in a red wine sauce. BBQ dinner and libations were served to the guests on the patio and lawn near the rose garden. A relaxing day at the beach was the theme that the event was structured around and it is safe to say that everyone in attendance found it to be so.
Central to creating the beach-themed ambience were not only the colorful umbrellas (both above the tables and in each drink), but most of all by the soothing sounds of Caribbean-style music provided by DJ George Hollis and Vera Parks of Gotta Dance Productions. The music put everyone in a mellow mood.
Bridgeport Place is a retirement and assisted living community owned and operated by Soundcare headquartered in University Place.
