TCC to play host to Brandman University business degree courses

Posted on August 2, 2011

A new program at Tacoma Community College will give students a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree option on the Tacoma campus.

The Brandman University degree program is an extension of the partners Early Advantage Program (EAP) signed by both institutions in fall 2009. The BBA offering will begin Fall I session, 2011, on August 29 with an operations management course. The bachelor-level classes that are offered require a minimum of 15 students in order to be held on the TCC campus. Students must meet Brandman’s standard admission requirements.

“Tacoma Community College is excited to begin hosting this high-demand degree on our campus,” said Timothy Stokes, Vice President of Academics for TCC. “We hope it affords our community an additional access point to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  An increase in the number of Business degree opportunities is often a key factor for economic development in a community. Our partnership with Brandman University is good for our college, community, and region.”

Initially, one business class will be offered each 8-week session, with more added as the program progresses. If the student is interested in taking more than one course per session, Brandman University offers business classes online or at the Lacey Campus.

“Brandman’s BBA was developed around feedback from today’s business leaders,” said Glenn Worthington, Dean of Brandman University’s School of Business. “Course delivery includes both online and blended instruction in an effort to provide innovative curriculum in a convenient and flexible format. Our students are our credentials and we are motivated to meet student needs in every possible way. We look forward to bringing the Brandman BBA to the TCC Campus.”
