Custer and Dower receive cash awards for increased student achievement

Clover Park School District’s Custer and Dower Elementary Schools each received $5,515 Title I, Part A Improvement Awards for significant improvements in overall mathematics and reading proficiency on the state assessment.
The money will be used to support each school’s continuing efforts to increase student academic success. The funds are provided through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title I, Part A.
Statewide, 56 schools received awards this year.
To be eligible for an award, schools must have made Adequate Yearly Progress for the past three years; be a designated Title I for the past three years; and shown significant gains overall in mathematics and/or reading proficiency.
