Bates brings the Aloha Spirit to annual celebration
Posted on June 2, 2011Take a tour through the Pacific Islands at Bates Technical College’s annual Global Heritage Celebration.
The Iwi Pono Student Society from Everett Community College is sure to get you in the Aloha Spirit on Wednesday, June 8, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the college’s South Campus, 2201 S. 78th Street in Tacoma.
The group, whose Hawaiian name means to create something beautiful and noteworthy, will showcase traditional Fijian, Maori and Hawaiian dances.
This year, organizers will offer an inexpensive lunch of a half sandwich, chips and a pop for $1, or visitors can purchase lunch at the college’s cafeteria.
