Longtime St. Frances principal to retire
Posted on May 18, 2011
Ms. Stephanie Van Leuven, Principal of St Frances Cabrini School in Lakewood since 1989, will be retiring at the end of this school year. In a letter to the school parents she wrote:
"The completion of our 2nd successful accreditation is a good time to pass the leadership of our awesome school to a new principal. A new principal will find our school poised for continuing and building upon its excellence."
Various groups within the school and parish communities will honor her Saturday June 4th, 2011. There will be a special Mass and blessing at 5:00pm followed by a reception in the Parish Hall for all who wish to thank and recognize her dedication to helping our Parish school grow and prosper into the 21St Century.
As former parent and continued school supporter, teacher and yearbook advisor, Mrs Janet Gildenhar wrote this dedication in our 2010-11 yearbook and I believe we would all concur: “This yearbook is dedicated to Ms. Stephanie Van Leuven, who is retiring after 22 years of outstanding, inspiring, and dedicated leadership, love of education, artistic expression, joyful color, and all that this life nourishes us with. May God’s blessings go with her. With love, we wish her well!”
