Curious about the health benefits of therapeutic-quality essential oils? Want to explore the art of Yoga? At Bates Technical College’s Health Fair, you can learn about these topics and more.

On Friday, April 29, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Downtown Campus auditorium, 1101 S. Yakima Avenue, Tacoma, the annual health fair will feature more than 40 informational booths, including the Cascade Regional Blood Bank’s bloodmobile, a yoga workshop, and vendors who will offer screenings, demonstrations and health assessments to promote health and wellness within the community.

Visitors will also have a chance to win prizes donated by vendors, and a $50 or $100 Fred Meyers gift card. The first 350 people will receive a gift bag full of health-related items.

The yoga workshop will be held in Room MZ138, 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and is an introductory class that will cover philosophy and styles, health benefits, basic yoga poses and sun salutations. Yoga mats will be provided, and participants should arrive in comfortable clothing and be prepared to move and stretch. Space is limited, so please arrive early to secure a spot.

The Health Fair is free and open to the public. Call 253.680.7177 or visit www.bates.ctc.edu to learn more.
