Students and staff members from Clover Park School District's Clarkmoor and Hillside Elementary Schools on Joint Base Lewis-McChord hosted Literacy Parades Oct. 29 to show off their favorite books. Teachers read the books to the students and then helped create costumes to match each book’s theme. Students and staff then marched around the schools to the cheers of their families and community visitors.

Clarkmoor

A Clarkmoor student pretends to shoot a bow and arrow like Little Bear, a character from the popular book, The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.

Hillside

A classroom of Hillside students celebrated the book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.
