Caring for Kids – Making a Difference

Posted on September 28, 2010

The 2010 school year started out with a bang! Caring for Kids held its annual Ready to Learn Fair at Lochburn and helped 1,846 kids in need with school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, haircuts, immunizations, sports physicals, vision and hearing screening and a lunch. It was a great day for the kids!

Joining forces with Lakewood First Lions Club, an additional celebration was held at Springbrook Park. The Lions supplied the food and games and Caring for Kids helped another 312 kids with school supplies, backpacks and hygiene products. It was a true neighborhood party!

Since the first day of school Caring for Kids has received 117 clothing bank orders from school counselors ands family service workers. Another 45 backpacks and 60 emergency food kits have been distributed. The school supply bank has been working daily to deliver school supplies. Don’t forget that Caring for Kids is an all volunteer organization! Please support Caring for Kids. Help us help our kids in need. carekids@comcast.net – 253-279-9777 - Diane
