Educators from the Clover Park and Steilacoom School Districts were recognized recently by the Rotary Club of Lakewood during its regular Friday noon meeting.
Rotarian Kim Prentice introduced Sarah Campbell from the Steilacoom Historical School District, where she works as the head counselor at Steilacoom High School, and Wayne Osborn, from the Clover Park School District, where he works as a media specialist at Hillside Elementary and runs a reading group for gifted students.
Each month during the school year the 120-member community service organization recognizes a teacher and a student from each of the school districts. Mick Johnson, current president of the club, said the honorees attend the noon luncheon meeting at Tacoma Country & Golf Club, were their achievements or duties are announced and each receives a certificate.
