Lakewood United upcoming speaker schedule

The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

  • September 2, 2010 - Small Business Administration Recovery – Calvin Goings, SBA Administrator, Region 10 (Mike Stevenson – MC)
  • September 9, 2010 - "Full Court Press, the Expansion of Lakewood Municipal Court" – Judge Ernest Heller, Lakewood Municipal Court (Kristi Roy – MC)
  • September 16, 2010 – Department of Corrections Overview - Focus on McNeil Island – Superintendent Ronald Van Boening (Pamela Maddess – MC)
  • September 23, 2010 – Elder Abuse Investigation - Paul Tosch, Regional Ombudsman for Lewis/Mason/Thurston Counties) and Nellis Kim, Regional Ombudsman for Pierce County (Evelyn Kelly – MC)

The dues for our fiscal year, which started on July 1, 2010, are $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast. You can pay your dues by mail to: Lakewood United, P.O. Box 99785, Lakewood, WA 98496 or directly to our Treasurer, Sue Boguszewski, if she is present at the weekly Thursday morning events.

If you wish to make suggestions for future topics or speakers, please contact any of our board members, Sue Boguszewski, Ernest Heller, John Huber, Kris Kauffman, Evelyn Kelly, Andrea Litton, Pamela Maddess, Mary Ann Miller, Kristi Roy, Mike Stevenson or Robin Rego.
