Tillicum Hosts City, County, State, and Congressional Panel
Posted on August 30, 2010Anticipating a crowd for the September 2nd panel discussion of Tillicum's opposition to the proposed Camp Murray Gate Relocation, a plan that would reroute thousands of military employee vehicles daily through the residential streets of the neighborhood, the Tillicum Woodbrook Neighborhood Association (TWNA) has changed the location for the forum from the Tillicum Community Center to the Tillicum Elementary School gymnasium, 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 2, 2010. Panelists include:
- Lakewood Deputy Mayor Don Anderson
- Lakewood City Councilman Jason Whalen
- Lakewood Assistant City Manager Dave Bugher
- 9th Congressional District Congressman Adam Smith (D)
- Pierce County Councilman and 9th Congressional Candidate Dick Muri (R)
- 28th State Legislative District Senator Mike Carrell (R)
- 28th State Legislative District Position 2 Representative Tami Green (D)
- Clover Park School Board member and 28 th Legislative District Candidate Position 2 Paul Wagemann (R)
- 28th Legislative District Representative Position 1 Troy Kelley (D)
- 28th Legislative District Position 1 Candidate and Attorney Steve O'Ban
- a representative from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
- Dave Sclair, moderator
One-thousand newsletters are being distributed door-to-door throughout the Tillicum and Woodbrook neighborhood and this announcement has been sent to the media and to hundreds on our email database.
A 13-member subcommittee of the TWNA has prepared and sent a two-installment packet of materials for all panelists along with a prioritized list of questions to be fielded by the panel. Both the packet and the questions are available to the public as well by requesting these items at billsboathouse@qwestoffice.net.
This event on Sept.2, 6:30 p.m. at the Tillicum Elementary School gymnasium is open to the public.
