Posted on August 23, 2010

DUPONT, WA – America’s Credit Union (ACU), has acquired the 54,000 square foot commercial office building at 1495 Wilmington Drive, formerly known as the Venture Bank building. GVA Kidder-Mathews was the commercial real estate company for the transaction. The purchase of the building was the largest commercial real estate transaction during the month of August in DuPont.

Providing financial services to thousands of military personnel and their families for over 56 years, ACU is the official credit union of Joint Base Lewis McChord - Main.

ACU expects to move its DuPont branch from McNeil Station to the recently purchased building by December 31, 2010. The new branch will offer members expanded services including drive-up banking and safe deposit boxes.

In addition, the facility will provide for growth, eventually housing ACU’s administrative offices within the next three to five years. “We are extremely excited about the acquisition of this building, and what it will mean to our members, the City of DuPont, and the future of ACU,” said President/CEO, Kenneth S. Leonard.

Store-front space is also available in this building for businesses seeking a place to lease in DuPont. ACU will host a grand opening celebration for its new branch at 1495 Wilmington Drive in early 2011.
