PR: Dower principal inspiration behind upcoming blood drive
Posted on August 12, 2010Kevin Brooks, long-time principal of Clover Park School District's Dower Elementary School, is recovering from the removal of a brain tumor. In support of her continuing health, Dower staff members organized a community blood drive Tuesday, Aug. 31 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Clover Park School District’s Student Services Center, 10903 Gravelly Lake Drive SW.
"Kevin is a phenomenal person and we wanted to do something to honor her,” said Kathleen Schwartze, a Dower kindergarten teacher. "She doesn’t need food or flowers or donations, so we wanted to do something to show her our support while also helping the community.” To sign up to participate in the blood drive, call Schwartze at 583-5240 or call Cascade Regional Blood Services at 1-877-24-BLOOD (25663).
