CPSD successfully passes transportation inspections
Posted by · July 29, 2010Clover Park School District’s buses and vehicles recently passed two inspections by the Washington State Patrol, both with outstanding results. The inspections—one scheduled and one a surprise—help to establish standards for the safe transportation of students, staff and community members.
The first inspection was conducted last winter with 25 percent of the district’s buses being randomly reviewed. The second inspection was conducted in the spring and included all of the district’s vehicles that transport students—buses, cars and vans. The inspection lasted four days. During both inspections, vehicles were examined for proper braking efficiency, suspension and steering components, exhaust systems, tires and lights.
“Transportation department staff work diligently all year to ensure that our vehicles are operating at a level that is safe for students” said Delphie Nielsen, director of transportation. “Staff work together to pro-actively address areas of concern before they become safety issues. These inspections are a direct reflection of the quality of work and high standards we have to ensure safe transportation services to our students, staff and community. I am honored to work with such a wonderful group of professionals.”
