Lakewood United upcoming speaker schedule

The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

• July 22, 2010 – "What does the Pierce County Auditor do anyway?" - Julie Anderson (John Huber - MC)
• July 29, 2010 – Economic Development in Lakewood - Update – Ellie Chambers-Grady, Economic Development Manager, City of Lakewood (Pamela Maddess - MC)
• August 5, 2010 – "Lakewood Playhouse Season Preview, Sherlock Holmes and More" – Marcus Walker, Managing Artistic Director (Ernie Heller – MC)
• August 12, 2010 – US Representative Adam Smith (Ninth District) (Kristi Roy – MC)

The dues for our fiscal year, which started on July 1, 2010, are $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast. You can pay your dues by mail to: Lakewood United, P.O. Box 99785, Lakewood, WA 98496 or directly to our Treasurer, Sue Boguszewski, if she is present at the weekly Thursday morning events.

Since there were no candidates for the board by the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2010) and all the incumbents are running again, the board remains the same as shown below. The directors voted to retain the current slate of officers - Sue Boguszewski (Treasurer), Mike Stevenson (Vice President, Secretary and Program Chairman) and Robin Rego (President).
