Letter: Support for Boeing

Following is an email received by University Place resident Laura Earles from Patty Murray and Jay Inslee regarding Boeing's attempt to win the aerial refueling tanker bid.

Thanks so much for signing our petition to support keeping jobs in Washington state.

As you well know, the Defense Department is evaluating whether to have Boeing build the next generation of aerial refueling tankers here in Washington or give the contract to the European firm Airbus. Boeing has played by the rules, but Airbus has received over $20 billion in illegal subsidies. Airbus shouldn't get this contract at a time when Washingtonians need the jobs and Airbus can't even play by the rules.
