Posted on July 15, 2010

TACOMA - The Cloud for Congress Campaign today announced their candidate for U.S. Congress, Doug Cloud has officially launched his campaign for Washington's 6th Congressional District at an event Wednesday evening. The event took place at 7 pm at The Hub Event Room in Downtown Tacoma.

"We're extremely pleased with the outpouring of support," said Chris Caillier, Campaign Manager for the Cloud for Congress Campaign. "Holding our kick-off event now and ending up with a standing room only crowd has just completely energized our team. We're ready to roll up our sleeves and get the word out about how Doug Cloud absolutely will bring the fresh start we need and clean up the corruption in Congress. A successful event like this one gives us an extra boost and pushes us to go the extra mile to reach as many people as possible with our vital message."

Doug Cloud has run for U.S. Congress a total of three times against U.S. Representative Norm Dicks. Yesterday's campaign kick-off marks Cloud's 4th attempt to unseat Representative Dicks should he garner the votes necessary to move past the primary this August.

"I'm humbled by this showing of support," said Cloud. "This fantastic turnout is a testament to the people of the 6th District being tired of the same old political games and partisan agendas. Our campaign is building momentum because our message of fiscal responsibility, taking back our constitutional freedoms, and cleaning up corruption in Congress resonates with voters. True representation in Congress should mean true benefit for the people. We will not stand idly by and watch another two years go by wasted. We need to keep more of the tax payers’ money in their pockets, and of the money the government does collect, we will see to it that it is managed responsibly, unlike these years past. I will fight for accountability in Congress. The people of the 6th District demand it."
