Free Amelia Earhart presentation at Lakewood Pierce County Library
Posted on July 14, 2010Lakewood – People will learn about noted American aviation pioneer and author Amelia Earhart during a free event at Lakewood Pierce County Library, 6300 Wildaire Road S.W. on her birthday, Saturday, July 24, 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Archivist Dave Bellarts will share his Amelia Earhart memorabilia, tell stories from her fateful final flight, and give out free copies of radio logs from her flights. Bellarts’ father was the last person to hear from Earhart and her navigator.
Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean during an attempt to make a flight around the world in 1937. Fascination with her life, career and disappearance continues to this day.
