2011 applications for Human Services Funding available
Posted by · July 13, 2010The City of Lakewood is initiating a competitive application process for 2011 Human Services funding, with applications due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. This process allocates City general funds to human services programs that meet the City’s human services strategic priorities and application rating criteria.
Lakewood City Council has identified priorities for funding in 2011 to be: Basic Needs, Safety, Health and Education. Applicants seeking to receive human services funding by the City of Lakewood for 2011 must provide core services in one or more of the four priority areas. The City of Lakewood requires all contractors and any subcontractors comply with E-Verify as set forth in Lakewood Municipal Code Chapter 1.42.
The application form and several other attachments to help you complete the application can be found at: http://www.cityoflakewood.us/news-and-events/730-2011-application-for-human-services-funding.html. Be sure to thoroughly read the instructions and attachments, as they have changed since the last application cycle.
Please submit 1 signed original application and 1 copy of your application (in person) to 6000 Main Street SW., Lakewood, WA 98499 by 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 11. Applications submitted after 5:00pm will not be accepted. No postmarks accepted.
I would like to extend a special invitation to attend the joint Bidder’s Workshop with the City of Tacoma. The workshop is helpful because it specifically addresses changes in the application and instructions. Attendance at the workshop is strongly recommended, but not required. We’ve found that programs that attend consistently produce higher quality proposals. The Lakewood workshop is scheduled for:
o Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
This workshop will be held at Lakewood City Hall, 6000 Main Street SW in the Council Chambers.
Thank you for your interest in serving the needs of our citizens. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
Kim Dodds, Human Services Coordinator, 253-983-7756.
