PR: State Medicaid offices closed July 12
Posted on July 8, 2010OLYMPIA – Offices of the Washington State Medicaid program will be closed on Monday, July 12, for a Temporary Layoff Day intended to cut government costs in this year’s budget. Medicaid offices will open the following day, Tuesday, July 13, at 8 a.m.
Interactive voice recordings and self-service information on the program’s Web site and hot lines will be available during the Temporary Layoff Day. The toll-free phone number is 360-562-3022. The home page Web address is http://www.hrsa.dshs.wa.gov.
Requests for prior authorization of medical supplies or therapies will be handled on Tuesday, July 13, just as they would on a paid state holiday.
Pharmacies may provide emergency fills to Medicaid clients on July 12. The program guarantees payment for any good faith effort by a pharmacist to meet a client’s immediate needs in an emergency. Under the emergency fill policy, pharmacies must contact the program to report the emergency fill within 72 hours of dispensing the emergency fill.
The Temporary Layoff Days are scheduled in law to appear about once a month over the next year, and the Medicaid program will shut its doors for all of them.
The additional Temporary Layoff Days are scheduled on Friday, August 6, 2010; Tuesday, September 7, 2010; Monday, October 11, 2010; Monday, December 27, 2010; Friday, January 28, 2011; Tuesday, February 22, 2011; Friday, March 11, 2011, Friday, April 22, 2011; Friday, June 10, 2011.
