LAKEWOOD - Lakes High School principal Brian Laubach has been appointed as Clover Park School District's new director of teaching and learning. Laubach is replacing Patty Maxfield, who is retiring July 1. Karen Mauer-Smith, an assistant principal at Lakes, will replace Laubach as Lakes' principal. "Brian has been very involved with improving instruction, professional development and curriculum issues throughout his tenure in the district," said superintendent Debbie LeBeau. "He will bring a principal's perspective to the director of teaching and learning role and help move forward the district's work accomplished to date." Laubach has worked in the district since 1993 and has served as principal at Lakes since 2006. Laubach will assume his new duties July 1.
