DuPont Mayor Tamara Jenkins and Joyce Oubre cut the ribbon officially opening the DuPont McDonald's. In multi-colored sweater is co-owner Ron Oubre.
New McDonald's was officially opened in DuPont. Joyce and Ron Oubre, owners of three other McDonald's Restaurants, officially opened their newest facility in DuPont Monday afternoon. The restaurant opened to the public at 5 am Tuesday.

Mike Culley of DuPont gave Joyce Oubre a 1957 $1 silver certificate as the first cash purchase for a Big Mac in honor of Jim Delligatti, the inventor of the Big Mac, who opened his store in 1957.

Joyce Oubre (in black and white outfit) welcomed a crowd to the grand opening of the new restaurant in DuPont. She acknowledged that the menu will be more standard McDonald's items rather than the buffet that awaited invited guests for the opening.

Just what Dupont needs--another fast-food restaurant and no grocery store.
