Meet old friends and make lots of new ones - share a few memories and "war stories!" Retired Military are encouraged to wear their uniform, if these still fit! Uniforms of all the services, and from World War II and forward have been an anticipated tradition. Dress is semi formal / formal.
The McChord Dining Out has grown in popularity through the years, and is attended by retirees from ALL branches of the military. This event is a formal dinner and program, traditionally held by military units. The event is rooted in pre Sixth Century England. It honored military victories, individuals and unit achievements. The late General H. H. Arnold probably started the military Dining In within the Army Air Corps in World War II. The popularity of this event between the Air Corps and the British military, resulted in its growth in the U. S. Air Force. The Dining Out is similar to the Dining In, except that wives, husbands and friends are invited. The event plays an important part in the life of military organizations, and has become meaningful as a military family tradition.
This year's event will feature COL Glenn G. Rousseau, the 62nd Wing Operations Commander, presenting information on the current missions of the 62nd Wing, to include the humanitarian operations in Haiti and Chile.
RAO Volunteers will be honored, with the Volunteer of the Year announced, and Certificates of Appreciation awarded.
Door prizes will also be awarded.
No-host social hour begins at 6:30 PM, with seating for dinner at 7 PM. The banquet features the usual excellent fare: Prime Rib ($22.55), Salmon ($20.15), and Chicken Cordon Bleu ($17.75). Add $2.00 for non-club members. Reservations are required and must be received by April 20th. For reservations, call the McChord Club,
