Accident on I-5

Lakewood and Central Pierce Firefighters responded to a report of a two vehicle collision today on northbound Interstate 5 just north of Highway 512 at approximately 3:09 pm. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a box truck had collided with a state vehicle. The box truck had rolled on its side trapping the driver inside. Lakewood firefighters extricated the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported to an area trauma center for further evaluation of his injuries. (More photos below).
