Letter: What is Brandman?
Posted on March 1, 2010You may have noticed a new ad on The Suburban Times and wondered what is Brandman University and why should I care. Brandman, a fully accredited adult education university, is part of long-established Chapman University with a main campus in Orange, CA. Chapman University was founded in 1851 and has a long history of providing a quality education in both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods. In the Fall of 2009 Chapman University decided that in order to accentuate its adult-centered programs it would be beneficial to change our name in order to separate us from the traditional campus at Organge, but still remain a part of the Chapman University System.
Brandman University is located throughout California and there are five campuses here in Washington to include two at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Brandman (Chapman) has been offering graduate and undergraduate degrees at the Bases for over 30 years. While our primary mission is to provide educational opportunities for our military personnel at the Joint Base we are also open to civilians from the community who have no affiliation with the military.
Since we are a working adult-centered university, our classes are all in the evenings or weekends. Also, since we are located on the military sites, our tuition rates are very reasonable. In the classroom we offer an undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership and then we offer a Master of Science in Human Resources, a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
We offer a wide variety of online degrees to include an MBA, Masters in Health Administration and bachelor degrees in business administration, criminal justice, legal studies, early childhood development, psychology, sociology and legal studies. If you would like more information or arrange to meet with an advisor, please contact Jim Maine at 253-584-5448.
