PietzkeCherylCHERYL ANN (KAY) PIETZKE 9/15/56 – 2/2/10 Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away with her family at her side after a vigorous battle with ovarian cancer. Our mother was a lifelong resident of Tacoma. She went to Gray Jr. HS and graduated from Mt. Tahoma HS in 1975. She worked for the Tacoma School District and missed the staff and students at Foss HS when she became too ill to work. Mom, who left us all too early, was a beautiful, intelligent, caring, and giving person. She loved her husband (Bob), her children, and her god. Though busy, she always put her children first. Mom loved reading, gardening, and packing up the family and going for a hike. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vivian Kay, Mom is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert Pietzke; her son, Steve; daughter-in-law, Jayme; her daughters, Tamara and Brittany; grandchildren, Chase and Ava; niece and nephew, Tommy and Mackenzie; brothers, Danny and David; sisters, Linda Koch and Donna Steinbrugge; and numerous other family members and friends. A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held on Friday, February 12th at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Valley Chapel. Barbara Lucille Soper Born 6/21/1937, 2nd oldest of 11 children, passed away 2/3/2010 at 72. She loved her career as a phlebotomist, working many years at Good Samaritan Hospital. She lived a simple life, and what little she had she shared with all. Barbara had a knack for writing jingles and had a beautiful singing voice. Her greatest quality was her sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. She loved to watch Cops marathons and try her luck at the slot machines. She never complained, even when she didn’t feel well, and always said “I’m fine, just fine.” We know she is with the Lord in Heaven now, and is truly “Just fine.” Survivors include sons Michael, Danny, Montie Tipton, David Reece, daughter Christine Kropf (Kevin), 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Anna Marie Osborne, Linda Smith, Francis Krohn, and brothers Tommy, Ken, Johnny and George Krohn.
