Winter Sports Activities
Posted on February 2, 2010Lakewood Parks, Recreation & Community Services is offering the following winter sports activities:
Snowshoeing Basics: Get out and enjoy the cool, crisp weather snowshoeing in Commonwealth Basin at Snoqualmie Pass. Tired of being stuck inside during the winter? If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Explore the winter wonderland in this snowy basin surrounded by towering peaks. Snowshoes and poles will be provided.
- Cost: $30
- Ages: Adult
- Session A: Feb. 20, 2010
- Session B: Mar. 20, 2010
- Time: 8am – 5pm
- Depart & Return to City Hall (6000 – Main St. SW, Lakewood)
Ski/Snowboard Day: Come join us on an out-of-school day on Friday, February 12th at Crystal Mountain Resort. This all-day trip for youths ages 11 – 17 includes your transportation to and from Crystal Mountain and an all-day youth lift ticket. Leave the driving to us and have a great day on the slopes. Get a group of friends together and have some fun on your day off from school.
- Cost: $80
- Ages: 11 – 17
- Session B: Feb. 12, 2010
- Time: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- Depart & return to City Hall (6000 – Main St. SW, Lakewood)
Introduction to X-Country Skiing: Try one of the best outdoor activities of the winter! X-country skiing is a low-impact, fun activity that can be enjoyed with a minimum amount of instruction. We are partnering with the Nordic Center at the Summit at Snoqualmie for a complete package of fun which will include your rental equipment and trail ticket for the day.
- Cost: $55
- Ages: 14 – Adult
- Session A: Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010
- Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Depart & return to City Hall (6000 – Main St. SW, Lakewood)
