Six candidates for U.P. Position 7
Posted on January 14, 2010The City of University Place is seeking an applicant to fill the current City Council vacancy of Position #7. This position represents the entire City of University Place. As part of the appointment process Council heard from fourteen candidates, who met the application requirements, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at City Hall. Each candidate made a three minute statement followed by questions from Council. The pool of fourteen has been narrowed to six candidates.
The public will have an opportunity to ask the final six candidates questions at a "Meet the Candidates" forum hosted by the League of Women Voters on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Candidates (in alphabetical order are) are:
- Caroline Belleci
- Frank Boykin
- Kenneth Campbell
- Ross Hjelseth
- Mark Kahley
- Cliff Quisenberry

This may actually be premature as the process used for the selection violated State law. The forum set for the 20th, therefore, may not occur.
