Peter McKinnon Miller III Peter passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2010 at the age of 59 at his home in Fircrest with his family by his side. He passed into the loving arms of God when his brief but courageous battle with cancer ended. Pete was a supervisor for Tacoma Water and was a member of IBEW Local 483. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Jeanne and Charles Lang, brother, William Miller, mother-in-law, Dorothy Christofferson and nephew, Jon Christofferson. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Barbara, son, Robert (Becca) and twin grandchildren, Ben and Abby and daughter, Carrie (Zach) Koehnke all of Gig Harbor, father, Peter Miller II and sister Peggy Sweeney of NY, many nieces and nephews and his dear friend and father-in-law, Robert Christofferson. Pete's love of life, quick wit and generous heart will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to thank Tina and the wonderful staff from Multicare-Good Samaritan Hospice for the care and comfort they gave to Pete and our family. Remembrance donations in Pete's name may be sent to Hospice. Viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 14 at Mt. View Funeral Home from 3-9pm. A funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Friday, Jan. 15 at 1pm.
