Women of Steilacoom
Posted on December 27, 2009Washington State continues a centennial celebration for "Washington Womens Suffrage" during 2010. In 2008, a group of Steilacoom Women presented a series of lectures about 20th century Steilacoom women who made a difference. The series was sponsored by SHMA and the Washington Women's Consortium. Featured women included Hattie Bair, Clenda Davidson, Janet Tait, Dr. Mary Perkins, Gladys Parker, Joan Curtis and Janda Volkmer. Lecture presenters included Jean Dyer Swanson, Susanne Davidson, Margaret Humm Wilkinson, Lenore Rogers, Jane Bair Light, and Nancy Covert.
