Posted by · November 24, 2009Thank you for calling a “Christmas” Tree, a CHRISTMAS Tree! (Article, “Lakewood Christmas Tree Lighting“, November 2, 2009) With the seemingly endless obsession to be politically
correct, I am so very proud that our community – and in particular its voice, The Suburban Times – has NOT submitted to this utter nonsense. Religion (and specifically, Christianity) has had a significant impact upon our country’s founding, history and development. Why “in God’s name” are we trying to emasculate ourselves, and sanitize our history from what a few whiners consider somehow “offensive.” Where is the “tolerance” they supposedly preach? Again, I am proud of my Lakewood roots (Lakes, class of ‘67 – “Go Lancers”), and of the Suburban Times for being real! Therefore, I unabashedly wish each and every one of you a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving, and a Joyous and Merry Christmas! And, may God continue to bless America!
