Lakewood United upcoming meeting schedule

The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

• November 26, 2009 – No meeting – Happy Thanksgiving
• December 3, 2009 – Rebuilding Together South Sound – Rehabilitating Communities With Free Home Repairs and Modifications – Drew Carrigan, Community Outreach Coordinator, AmeriCorps Member (Robin Rego – MC)
• December 10, 2009 – Bone Health Seminar – Mac MacDonald and Patricia Terry (Mary Ann Miller – MC)
• December 17, 2009 – Six Clover Park Technical College Public Speaking Class Students (Konstantin, Courtney, Shanelle, Bunni, Lisa and Louis) will reprise topics from some of the best past Lakewood United speakers in informative, bite-sized speeches: Identity Theft, Domestic Violence, the Lakewood Center Activity Center, Lakewood Historical Society, Women in the Military, and the Purdy Prison Pet Program (Class Instructor, Phil Venditti – MC)

The dues for our next fiscal year, which started on July 1, 2009 are $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast. You can pay your dues by mail to: Lakewood United, P.O. Box 99785, Lakewood, WA 98496 or directly to our Treasurer, Sue Boguszewski, if she is present at the weekly Thursday morning events.
