Lakewood United meeting schedule

The Lakewood United group meets at 7 AM every Thursday at Burs Restaurant, which is located at 6151 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The events for the next four weeks are as follows:

  • July 16, 2009 – Lakewood City Council Candidates – Levi Wilhelmsen, Mike Brandstetter and Connie Coleman Lacadie (Position Two Candidates), Sam Ross and Jason Whalen (Position Three Candidates) (Kris Kauffman – MC)
  • July 23, 2009 – (Two Programs) Lakewood Area Shelter Association (LASA) 20th Anniversary - Janne Hutchins, Executive Director. “Our Children, Our Hope”, Kelly Phanco, Executive Director, Lakewood First 5 FUNdamentals (Andrea Litton – MC)
  • July 30, 2009 – Lakes of Lakewood – Don Russell, Kris Kauffman (Evelyn Kelly – MC)
  • August 6, 2009 - (Two Programs) Congressional Update (Another Stimulus? Can the USA Go Bankrupt?) – Congressman Adam Smith (he will leave at 7.40 AM for another meeting). Oak Grove Village Apartments - 254 Unit Complex (Steilacoom Boulevard and Lakewood Drive SW) – Brett Jacobsen, Developer (John Huber – MC)

The dues for our next fiscal year, starting July 1, 2009 will be $20 per year which equates to less than 40 cents every Thursday. This is thanks to our volunteer board. Incidentally, our guest speakers only charge us the cost of a breakfast.
