St. Joseph-St. John to install new vicar

On Wednesday, July 1, St. Joseph-St. John Episcopal Church, 11111 Military Rd. SW, Lakewood, will celebrate the installation of the church’s new vicar, the Reverend Gail Helgeson. The event will combine liturgy and entertainment from many cultures and modes of worship in an evening of joy, tradition and new beginnings. Included will be Hawai’ian dancing, Sudanese drumming, the McChord Protestant Chapel Choir, and the Right Reverend Gregory Rickel, bishop of the diocese of Olympia. The church is located near Pierce College and Lakes High School.

A light supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Mutual Ministry and installation at 7 p.m. Free and open to the public. Call (253)584-6143 or email stjjs1@juno.com for additional information.
