Steilacoom Pierce County Library to close temporarily for improvements
Posted on May 19, 2009Steilacoom Pierce County Library, 2950 Steilacoom Blvd. will be closed Tuesday, June 2, through Saturday, June 13, for carpeting, painting and other building improvements. The library will reopen on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m.
The Steilacoom Library meeting room will be open Tuesday, June 2 – Friday, June 12, to allow people to pick up books, DVDs and other materials that they have reserved or placed on hold:
- Monday – Wednesday, 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Thursday – Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Pickup of items on hold will not be available on Monday, June 1, and Saturday, June 13.
The book drop will remain open 24/7 so that library customers may return items that they have checked out from the library.
During the closure, people may visit nearby DuPont Pierce County Library, 1540 Wilmington Drive, Lakewood Pierce County Library, 6300 Wildaire Road S.W. or University Place Pierce County Library, 7315 27th St. W.
When reserving or placing holds on books and other items in the Library’s online catalog, people may designate one of these other libraries as the pickup location, while Steilacoom Library is closed.

Eric Garrett is an AMAZING teacher!!! If you are a student who actually wants to learn, he is there for you 24/7. I've never known a teacher who gives out his home phone number! Eric truly loves what he does and will go above and beyond for any child who wants to learn!!!! Thank you Eric!!! We need more teachers like you in Steilacoom!!! I am very thankful for you and your teaching ethic!!! Please continue what you're doing! You're under appreciated!
