Summer Design Squad at the Computer Clubhouse

Posted on May 7, 2009

Registration has begun for summer Design Squad at the Lakewood Computer Clubhouse. Based on the hit PBS series, Design Squad challenges youth, ages 10-18, grouped into teams, to take on engineering projects. The projects may be the "physical" - such as constructing an engineering marvel or an electrical wonder. The projects may also be "virtual" - utilizing the unique software at the Clubhouse. Sometimes the projects will require both hands-on and programming skills such as when the challenge involves robotics.

While all this is going on, a youth/teen camera crew is filming the teams in order to create our own Design Squad episode. The film crew works furiously in order to premier the new episode on Friday.

Design Squad is made possible from a grant from Intel-Washington. To register online for Design Squad, visit http://www.lakewoodclubhouse.us.
